Harlow is a self-declared Sculpture Town after an initiative in 1953 saw Harlow Art Trust set out to beautify the post-war New Town by commissioning, purchasing and siting sculptures across its public spaces. The town now uniquely hosts a Barbara Hepworth in the middle of a social housing estate, a Henry Moore in the town hall reception, and a Auguste Rodin outside of Nando's, alongside numerous other public sculptures.
